Churches and supermarkets bypass the banks with their coin needs

Tags: Excerpts from the Windmill

GOUDA – Dutch churches and supermarkets have found a practical way of circumventing bank service charges for taking in and for dispensing coins. A non-profit church agency pioneered a coin counting system, even supplying the hardware, in which supermarkets relieve the local churches of the (rolled coin) proceeds of Sunday offerings, bypassing the banks. The Protestant Church-agency also will offer its system to other churches in the country. The imported Chinese counting machines only require slight changes for this purpose.
