NIJMEGEN – Excavators working on a new intersection have unearthed yet another Iron Age burial site, complete with human bones as well as traces of cremated remains. In total, six graves were discovered, including one belonging to a male and another one of a woman. The latter’s grave also contained pottery which may have held food for life in eternity. The man’s grave yielded a bronze pin which may have been used to hold his clothes together. Centuries later, Batavian tribesmen farmed on the unused burial site. The find is the fourth in a series, all dating from 800 to about 250 before Christ.
