Weather analysts note Dutch enjoy more sunshine

Tags: Excerpts from the Windmill

WAGENINGEN – The number of hours of sunlight the Dutch enjoy has steadily risen over the past eighty years, the weather station at the Wageningen University reports. There are few such stations that have served the public longer than the Wageningen ‘weerstation’, the reason that it also has a most unique collection of data. The weather analysts do not know why the Dutch are receiving 412 hours of sunshine over the 1928 amount nor are they able to determine why the sunlight is also gaining in intensity. The analysts also note that the number of hours of sunshine is dropping in Africa and such countries as China and India, often on account of pollution, causing temperatures to drop by a degree every twenty years. They are as yet unsure about any connection with the global warming trend.
