BRUSSELS – The Netherlands again is number one in Europe with per capita Internet connections. Ninety percent of all Dutch households have access to the Internet, leading Luxembourg and Sweden, which have 87 and 86 percent respectively. In contrast, the European average does not go beyond 65 percent. The usage of the Internet in the Netherlands is also highest, with the age group of 16 to 24 leading all others in accessing the Internet. Only the age groups of Estonia and Denmark get close to the 90 percent of the Dutch. The British and the Danes beat the Dutch with their online shopping statistics, however.
