Passenger traffic through Rotterdam Airport rising

Ash and snow fail to stem traffic

ROTTERDAM – Troubles caused by volcanic ash clouds and snow, have failed to stem passenger traffic coming through the Rotterdam -The Hague Airport. It welcomed more than one million passengers in 2010.

Air traffic struggled through heavy snowfall last year. In April, air traffic took a body hit when one of Iceland's volcanoes caused mayhem. During those periods there were even less people flying through RTH Airport than in 2009, during the economic crisis.

The loss was amply compensated by an increasing number of passengers during the other months of the year 2010.
