EEMNES – Thanks to the Historical Circle Eemnes, a village near the central Dutch city of Utrecht, two elderly Dutch emigrants returned home from abroad for a reunion at their wartime hiding place, located across the street from the village church. The exterior of the house had not changed at all the pair agreed, but the hiding place beneath the wooden floor, which they entered through a trap door, was no longer there. It had been replaced by a concrete floor and the interior of the house had been changed as well, said Dutch Australian Fred Witsenhuijsen (86) and Dutch American Elisabeth Jans (84).
