Former Philips employees develop fire-prevention substance

Launch of IsoFlame

STADSKANAAL - A substance which likely could protect objects, people and even entire forests from fire has been developed by a company set up by former employees of Dutch electronics giant Philips. IsoFlame, a natural product as yet only available in liquid form, could be applied easily to any surface or material. It reportedly not only retards fire, but actually extinguishes flames since it forms a barrier between the fire and the material that has been treated, and can not be penetrated. Initial production by the upstart company is 1,000 liters of IsoFlame a week, with a huge upswing forecast as soon as patents and licenses are granted.
