Invention fixes aging sewers without excavation

ZWOLLE – The deteriorating sewer system beneath the centuries old city core of the Overijssel capital is getting a new lease on life through a new invention: a resin coat. An invention that has already been called futuristic, it consists of something akin to a sock of resin which, when simply applied with an expandable device, attaches itself to the sewer line section by section, closing leaks and tears alike without any interruptive and costly excavation. The sewer relining extends the life of this crucial infrastructure by 50 years and saves millions in replacement costs. The invention is used to fix both main sewer lines as well as single house connections.
